The choristers returned to school last week to find a dozen new, Raleigh road bikes purchased for their use and enjoyment. The bike project grew out of a conversation with alumni Dad, Farley Toothman. The family is knows for their enthusiasm for cycling; Farley organizes a a community youth bike club in his hometown and Henry, '03; is an avid cyclist at Cal Berkeley, where he has completed his Sophomore year.

To our delight Farley was thrilled to learn of the school's new project and proposed that the Toothman Family donate the bikes. After sons George, '02 and Henry, 03, heard of the plan they offered a variation - collaborate with the school and create a bike campaign, rallying support amongs their class mates to raise monies for the bikes, challenged by their parents' agreement to subsidize the purchase.

George and Henry have set a fine example of giving back to their alma mater in a way which is most personal and meaningful to them.

On a summer afternoon, faculty and staff in residence took a walk down Broadway and rode the new bikes back to the school where a freshly painted closet, outfitted with hardware for storage, awaited them.
