8th Grade Placement

All boys graduate from Saint Thomas Choir School well prepared to accept the challenges of high school.

The boys and their families begin the process of considering their next school at the end of seventh grade. They are encouraged to approach this process as a continuation of the self discovery that is a part of the very unique experience of spending five years in an intimate, familial, Christian atmosphere where the boys are absorbed in daily rigorous musical and academic training.

Our students are highly valued by many schools, but this is not a quest to win a place at a “good school”, but, rather, to discern what is the best school at this time for them.

How do we quantify the educational experience for one boy compared to another? How does a boy know if he will enjoy the routine and make friends on a particular campus? What are the reasons or desires that a family may take into account when weighing whether a day or boarding environment is most suitable?

Each year, the Headmaster leads the class in this process and each year we find that our student’s choices are as distinctive as they are. Below is a partial listing of schools to which our students have been accepted in the past five years.
