Welcome to the Saint Thomas Choir School Admissions Section!

Saint Thomas Choir School admits boys entering Third, Fourth or Fifth Grade (latest admissions take place prior to the Christmas vacation of the Fifth Grade).

Typically a candidate will visit the school one morning with his family, and if mutually agreed, will be invited to return for one of our overnight auditions. 

When auditioning for the choir, the Director of Music bases the vocal evaluation on whether the ear and voice hold potential. Lack of prior musical training will not hold a boy back. Similarly extensive musical training will not guarantee a boy a place at the school.

Through interviews, academic tests, and ultimately spending two nights in residence, the Choir School staff and faculty observe the boy’s suitability to the boarding environment and capability to do the curriculum. Likewise, the process provides a young boy and his family the time and experience with the school to make a decision.
